Embracing the Dark
VALA invites you to respond to the beauty and depth of autumn through art. 🍁🌿 As the season turns, we embrace both the light and the darkness, the abundance and the decay. Create a work of love for the season and submit your response in any medium, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, poetry, and performance.
The Opening Night reception is open to all, and free of charge. The exhibit runs through November 30. I’d love to see you there with some of my newest art!
Opening Reception — When We Were Young & Youth Art Exhibition
From nostalgic reflections to innovative visions, this new exhibitions offer a multifaceted look at youth. Join us for the opening reception and explore how art can celebrate and redefine our understanding of this pivotal life stage.
My artwork, “relate”, will be part of this new exhibition, which runs through December 13.

Kent Cajun Fest
Experience the soul and culture of Louisiana with an action-packed music and food event in historic downtown Kent! Dance, dine and have a ragin’ Cajun good time where the Southern culture and hospitality turn historic downtown Kent into a little Lousiana.
Live music and dancing will keep festival-goers entertained throughout the day with high energy performances of local and Portland based Zydeco and Cajun bands. Experience the vibrant and lively culture of Louisiana through music, Cajun-themed food trucks, beer/wine garden, vendors/artists, and activities for the kids. We promise a feast for the senses!

VALA Eastside and Redmond Town Center are excited to gather artists, craftspeople, and designers for the 12th Annual Redmond Arts Festival at Redmond Town Center. This three-day outdoor festival takes place July 14th-16th, 2023, and features approximately 60 artist booths, a community art project, and live entertainment. The festival is produced in conjunction with Redmond’s annual Derby Days celebration at Redmond City Hall which features a parade, music, food, and kids' activities, and has an expected combined attendance of over 15,000 people. The entire City of Redmond is activated with art and festivities on these days.

Kent Guild Artisan’s Festival
The Kent Guild of Seattle Children’s Hospital would like to invite you to the 30th annual Artisan’s Festival to be held at the Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent, Washington. This event supports the uncompensated and under-compensated care program at Seattle Children’s Hospital. 20% of all proceeds benefit the hospital.
Scenic Hill Elementary
Come join us at Scenic Hill Elementary, for a fun Saturday. There will be a variety of vendors, booths and ideas for the upcoming holiday season. While you are there, purchase a yummy baked treat from our 6th graders to help raise money for camp.

Herron Island Art Festival
The Herron Island Art Festival features local artists in a beautiful island setting. To get to the island, you will drive about a half hour west of Gig Harbor to Lakebay, and then take a small private ferry to the island. You’ll need a guest pass to get on the island, so make sure to message me if you plan to attend. You can drive onto the ferry for $20 for car and driver plus $3 for each additional passenger. Or you can walk onto the ferry for $3 per person. From the ferry, it’s a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk to Goodpastor Park, where the event will be held.

“The Pink Gorilla” Food Truck will be stationed by the Community Center offering a wide variety of food and drinks.
There are three public parks, including Goodpastor, where you are almost certain to encounter the friendly island deer. The other two parks are public beaches, where you can enjoy your picnic or do some beachcombing. You’re likely to see seals, and perhaps porpoises, while you’re there.
Snoqualmie Valley Garden Club
The Snoqualmie Valley Garden Club Plant Sale and Art Show supports a community scholarships award program. I’ll be there with garden art, wall art, and jewelry. Come say hello!
The event is located at the Mt. Si Senior Center, 411 Main Ave S., in North Bend. We may be inside or outside, depending on the weather.
